For the 1st time, I'm sad that Kerry didn't win, because "Kerry'isms" put Bush'isms to shame

"I believe that the president of the United States should not use the Constitution of the United States for election purposes during an election year. It's a document that we haven't touched, certainly with respect to the Bill of Rights, in years, and I don't think it should be used for the purpose of driving a political wedge through America. I think it's wrong. Now, that said, I personally have taken the position I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. That's my position, and I think that's the way you respect both traditional values. But you can allow civil unions, which protects the rights of people in America not to be discriminated against. And I think you can balance that, and I think it's appropriate to. But I do think that it ought to be left to the states."

I mean, can you believe people actually voted for this guy?

Considering the alternative, obviously.

Just what does this comment have to do with the program being commented on? If you want a "Kerry-ism" program, write one and Version Tracker could carry it. Making political comments here is inappropriate.

The Kerry comment makes sense to me, a long winded sense but I understand it. But you're right, if he had been elected he might have bored 20,000 innocent people to death. Thank god the good people of Florida stopped those crazy Democrats!

Considering the alternative?! - sonicraft

I suppose if you think Kerry would have been too boring, you are probably delighted at the Bush's action-packed agenda: like this exciting war in Iraq, this dizzying deficit, this partisan smear-fest, billions being raked in by these war-profiteers, hard-core croneyism, treason, corruption, stooges in the media parroting propaganda, the most qualified people in Washington resigning in indignation while hacks & sycophants are promoted to the highest offices. Bush must be red-hot viagra for you.

For the rest of us, he is guy who had the guts to step up to the role of Anti-Christ (somebody had to do it). He's the one who is greedy enough, self-righteous enough, arrogant enough, gullible enough and just plain dumb enough to bring the whole show to an end. I'll give him that.

Perhaps it was necessary to have one last vile dictator before we all wake up.
