Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 6-12 months

Recommend Product: YES

Having been a user of 4.6 I upgraded to 4.7.00.0510. After install I was no longer able to launch VPNClient without getting a nice big Error 51 dialogue and then seeing the application quit. Finally resolved after removing all vpnclient packages using Desinstaller and then reinstalling 4.7 again.

Error 51 - dnofal_dotmac

I tried running 4.6 on my dual-G5 getting this error. I am trying to upgrade to 4.7 with no luck: Installation failed. Has anyone experienced this problem? Any fixes.

Error 51 - cpatti1

You may be encountering the wedged kext problem. I've found this isn't really helped by a reinstall, and instead I use the solution listed here.

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050613022757427

In fact, I have an 'unfudgeCisco' (sub your favorite FLW for fudge :) script which unloads and reloads the kext. I have to use it all the time as the foolish thing dies whenever the Mac goes to sleep, the screen blanks, the right phase of the moon happens, or if somebody looks at it funny.

Also I suspect (though I have not been able to prove, need an external FW disk to do a clean OSX install and test with that) that the Cisco VPN has hosed my ability to play World of Warcraft, which stinks because this is my home machine and I'm paying for a subscription :)
