According to a post on Mac Fixit there is a fix to work around the problem with the instant crash feature that Version 10 has been blessed with.
http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=2005091508055730
1) Go to System Preferences -> Network
2) On the TCP/IP panel (for built in ethernet) click on the IPv6 options and set to automatic
3) Run Stuffit and turn off version checking
4) Turn IPv6 back to "off" [optional]
Aparantly this is a know "issue" that Allume are allegedly "dealing with."
