This is just what I've been looking for: A quick, easy way to search the contents of my external drives and discs. Haven't noticed the problem with foreign characters messing up backups. So far it's been a great way to keep track of what otherwise had me searching for hours at a time.

I created a folder in my home directory called "External Volume Images" and always save the images there. You need to make sure that each CD/DVD/volume has a unique name, and if it doesn't, be sure to rename it right after creating the image, and that's it. Searching these with finder are super-fast. I have no complaints, this is a great program!!!
