At work we store EndNote files on a fileserver and connect our OS X machines via SMB (Samba). Trying to save an Endnote file on the server with version 9 results in file corruption. The reponse from tech support was "On a Macintosh, it's likely that an SMB connection to the file server is not going to work well with EndNote 9 because of synchronous file access issues." We are working around the problem using AFP (netatalk), but it is a pain. I hope they can eliminate the current multiple-file storage method in the future!
