I just had a chat with the author, let him know there is something wrong with the backup script. He figured out his server is misdirecting users because it lost power during a kernal upgrade and reverted to an old .htaccess file.. Anyways, long story short, we directed me to a beta download for Iridium's next version on a different popular server I can't name which has the additional stand-alone installer for iTunes (SmoothTunes) as well as the full install for the Iridium theme.

I had just upgraded to iTunes 5, so I was anxious to see if it would work or not, and how well the theme looks.. Well, this time the installer worked fine, as the author said it would.

How does it look? Well, it's not for me. It lightens the top control area above the song list considerably. While some may like it, I find that it is so much lighter than the EQ, that it makes the EQ look garishly dark (and there isn't much anyone can do about that I don't think) whereas before the background fill was much closer to matching the color of the bars. But that's just my take on it when I compared screenshots I took of both versions to figure out what bothered me about the SmoothTunes version.. But if you don't mind the EQ standing out a lot more, perhaps it's your cup of tea? I have to give the author props for being available and spending a couple minutes of time attentively on my bug report. Thanks much for supporting the Mac community!
