I like Firefox. One of the best browsers. But the developpers from Mozilla.org could warn that you loose all your extensions and themes installing it.

Pfff - Kevin Harrison

That's pretty much the standard with Firefox. New versions mean all your extensions and themes need to be updated to make sure they work. Otherwise, those extensions could cause major problems with the new version, so disabling them is safer.

Plugins and extensions check the version before they work (if you look at the extensions download page it shows which FF versions it works with). Whether the Mozilla people tell you this or not, know that any subsequent beta versions are likely not to work until extension writers have the ability to update their code.
