iTunes Version 5.0 a disappointment.

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I have just loaded iTunes V 5.0 and was immediately put off by the new interface. It lacks the style which as a apple user I have become accustomed to.
I must also comment on the sound quality. I have a 5 Speaker surround set up with a sub-woofer coming through a digital audio amplifier so I'm very sound quality conscious. Just the install of version 5 has LOST a degree of sound quality. Nice try, but I have gone back to 4.9 (Brilliant). Substantial difference between the two.
Sorry guys, I know how hard you work..!

iTunes Version 5.0 a disappointment. - sjonke1

You might want to check and see if, after installing version 5, it changed your EQ setting if you used one. Perhaps you had one set, and then after installing version 5 it reverted to flat or the equalizer turned off. Such a change could dramatically affect how things sound. If it isn't what you are use to hearing, it might sound "worse" at first.

Thanks sjonke1 for your response.
I run a Third Party Sound App that works with iTunes called OSS3D.
It significantly enhances the sound quality through many functions and works very very well. This app requires that sound enhancer and equaliser are turned OFF in iTunes, so I have checked for conflict between the two. My thoughts are that perhaps OSS 3D will have to upgrade THEIR app now to integrate with iTunes. I still think the interface is far from stylish though. At first glance I took two steps back from my computer. I thought for a brief second I was looking at a "windows" platform. It was scary.
