OSX 10.4.2, current generation PowerBook G4
All three updaters: QT, iTunes, and iPod work perfectly except:
QT 7.02 updater kills registration of QT Pro 7 which must be reentered. Also kills the MPEG2 addition. Dumb.
The iTunes 5 search feature is worth the upgrade. It synced a variety of non-protected MP3 and AAC files (obviously created with older iTunes), as well as files from iTunes Music Store and Audible.com. This came after installation of the iPod update, which reallly isn't needed except for new Nano. But it updated both a 3G 20GB and 4G iPod Photo 40GB. It did not overwrite whole iPod. It is a true "updater."
If you're having problems install the original software or update your OS. Had no problems whatsover in importing about 28GB on the Photo and around 12GB on the G3.

All Three Updaters - chevyorange--2008
Ran them all, QT Pro still works and no problems with anything else.Wednesday, September 07 2005 @ 01:40 PM PDT
All Three Updaters - RAngol
ClarificationMy previous preferences for both iPods were set to first mount the iPod then launch iTunes. 5.0 used the old preferences. It didn't go through the "add current library" as indicated in description (as least with these preferences). All it did was update iCal or Address Book.
The current MP3, AAC, and protected AAC and MP3 (from Audible.com) all played perfectly because I made a deliberate effort to try at least two of each.
And personally I much prefer the new look because it makes it much quicker and easier to grab the window and move it around. With the big, thick, stupid, and wide junk found on other Apple apps you sometimes don't hit the right place unless you remember to always "aim" for the very top.
