It's not an Apple issue. It's a NetGear issue. The earlier versions of NetGear routers did work with AOL and X.

My MR814v1 works fine with AOL and Jaguar through Tiger.2. No problems that aren't those of AOL.

But the MR814v2 will not work with AOL and X of any flavor.

Two different, currnet Belkin routers also work with AOL and X.

There *may* be something AOL can do about it, but if so I won't hold my breath.
I won't expect NetGear to fix it anytime soon, if it hasn't all ready.

It's not an Apple problem. - edwardd20

Does it matter who's problem it really is? This has been an outstanding issue for a considerable length of time with no resolution and it cost AOL at least 1 customer, me. I was a charter member of AOL, even beta tested before it was AOL when it was called Samuel on my Apple ][ and every Apple version since then. There was never an attempt by AOL to resolve this problem. I went through beta forums who acknowldeged this well documented problem but could not do anything to fix it. Normal Netgear and AOL support, both offshore somewhere, couldn't even understand the problem to make an intelligent suggestion.

It's unfortunate but don't expect a resolution ever.
