I was fortunate to be a beta tester for Toast 7 so I've had some time to test out its new features. Toast 7 is easier to use thanks to the convenient Media Browser, has numerous new features and is greatly improved for encoding and authoring video DVDs.
These are some of the things I couldn't do with Toast 6:
*Backup data across multiple discs
*Use a Media Browser to access content
*Transfer VR-mode MPEG videos from my standalone DVD recorder
*Select from multiple DVD menus with up to 6 titles per page plus have the option for chapter menus
*Create a music DVD or author video DVDs with Dolby Digital audio without purchasing Jam 6
*Properly encode 16:9 video to DVD
*Customize my video and audio encoding settings for DVD, and enjoy a better-quality MPEG encoder
*Customize the layout for my data CDs and DVDs
*Export audio and video to many different formats including Divx
*Encode and burn movies as Divx discs
*Compress DL video DVDs to fit single-layer media without buying Popcorn
*Add slide menus for slide shows and smart lists and shuffle play for music DVDs
*Greatly expanded info about blank and burned discs
*Added features to the bundled CD Spin Doctor and Motion Pictures that improve their capability
All of this and the price remained the same as Toast 6. To anyone whose Mac doesn't meet the G4/10.3.9 or above/QuickTime 7 system requirements: upgrade your OS or get a newer Mac and enjoy Toast 7.

Very worthwhile upgrade! - TGSantee
Sorry, I don't understand what that means. Do you have a problem with my stating that I find Toast 7 to be far superior to Toast 6? I think most existing Toast 6 users would want to know what's different so they can decide if those are features they want. I certainly think it is foolish now to purchase Toast 6 at the same price as Toast 7, so I feel sorry for those whose Macs don't meet the Toast 7 minimum requirements.Wednesday, August 31 2005 @ 12:16 PM PDT

Be careful, you seem to have bent over just a bit too much. Do you feel a sharp pain in your hind quarters? See, I told you...Reply to This
