I've never seen this type of error before...

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

When I try to save Desktop Icon Login Item, I get a message that says "touch: /users/myname/Library/Scripts/DektopWrapper:
Permission Denied

followed by an applescript error which says it can't make an alias (error -1700)

I've rebuilt, cocktailed, re-permissioned, etc.

I think it's DW, not me... but I'm open to suggestions. I'd love to see this do what it says it does!

The permissions on your Scripts folder has gotten messed up somehow. I don't think that repairing them with Disk Utility's repair permissions command will fix that. You can do it yourself by selecting your Scripts folder in the Finder then pressing Command - i or selecting Get Info from the File menu. In the info window, click Ownership & Permissions to reveal the settings. If the settings don't contain "You can Read & Write", click Details to reveal the detailed permission settings. Be sure your user name appears next to "Owner:" and that Read & Write appears next to access for both Owner and Group. You may need to select these settings more than one time for them to take. You almost certainly will need to enter your admin password when prompted. Then when the settings appear correctly, click "Apply to enclosed items..." near the bottom of the window. That should fix the problem. You may have to do it more than once.
