I don't know what type of compatibility they addressed with this update but it is certainly not with SIMBL plugins.
After installing I updated persmissions. Safari 1.3.1 crashed 5 times in less than 5 minutes. It went straight to the trash can. I am back to v1.3

Update works well. - portlandGuy
I've installed v1.3.1 and have experienced no problems whatsover.Any problems experienced are most likely due to issues caused by 3d partyware, rather than the Safari update. As with any update, one should carefully consider what 3d partywares might cause issues before installing such updates.

Plug Ins are not Apple's - Xeater
If your using SIMBL plug-ins that are not made by Apple, then they are the responsibility of their own developers. It is not uncommon for Safari updates to break SIMBL plug-ins, but that doesn't mean Safari is no good. You need to evaluate the new Safari either without plug-ins, or with updated plug ins.

Crashes even more than v1.3 - Tyaris Major
SIMBL is a hack on top of Safari/WebKit. You should be moving SIMBL to the trash and installing a new version of it if/when it is released. Do you actually expect Apple to support third-party hacks that change the behaviour of their apps? It's like knocking out a wall in your house and then complaining to the company that built it when the whole thing comes crumbling down around you.
