The BBC player worked on my Safari BEFORE the update, so its a problem with your system.
You probably have some 3rd party plugin which is incompatible.

I third this comment. Also worth deleting the Safari plist to see if preferences are corrupted, and perhaps worth reinstalling RealAudio.
