Existing users, 
Google Talk it's as good as the Notifier for the e-mail, but it has a bug: each time when I click Inbox to go and see my mail it goes to a Google Accounts page, that says something like "Pgae unavailable". I had to manually log in altrough I checked all the "Remember Me" boxes.
