Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

I love the simplicity of Easy Bake Icon, but when I used it to make an icon of a GIF with a transparent background, the resulting Icon was a black box with that image inside it. Am I missing something, or does Easy Bake only make icons that are square with images in the center?

Mac icons are square. The various sizes for Windows and Mac OS icons and color depth are here: http://www.axialis.com/tutorials/tutorial-whatsanicon.html

If the image you dragged into EasyBake is not square, then it will be padded with black to make it the correct size. That's where the 'black bars' you have came from.
