Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

All my Powerbook 15" hard drive does is make clicking noises now. Internal drive isn't even recognizable when booting from external Firewire drive.

Gonna have to reformat and reinstall. Damn Apple.

On the plus side, the security update on my tower went fine.

Hosed my Mac OS 10.3.9 - deejemon

A clicking hard drive is hardware, not software. There's simply no way a security update could cause that. Your drive was already stuffed.

That doesn't really have anything to do with any security update; those can't cause physical problems with your hard drive. I was doing some mundane task on the internet when that same thing happened to my old iBook. The drive's hosed, though, so I'm sorry you have to go through that.

And this is the product page for the 10.4.2 update, not 10.3.9.
