Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I've used Acquisition a couple times in the past and always found it to be very intuitive and effective. I just downloaded this new version and I can't even figure out how to conduct a simple search. I could type in a common name like "beatles", and I get two pictures, advertising hot wet underage girls. I'm not a complete idiot here, I wrote a bunch of well-received Mac software myself. This app is a turd.

WTF, Over - Angostura-3

So what's going on here?

I just typed in 'Beatles' and got 75 hits within a few seconds, 64 were music, the rest video - all of The Beatles, bar 1 Buffy video. No underage girls.

Possibles:

1. Preferences set up differently (I have 'ignore adult content' turned on)
2. Firewall settings - do you have the Gnutella ports open?
3. Number of files you are sharing? - some nodes will not answer 'leechers'

Either way, it might be worth attempting to sort out your particular problems before simply saying 'This app is a turd'.

WTF, Over - APGiuliano

Like it matters if anyone says this app is a turd, it will always be a feature pick on Version Tracker and have countless thousands of downloads. Pay attention to that, not claptrap. Mine included.

WTF, Over - damon.campagna

I guess you haven't used much p2p lately. There are a lot of bots creating spoof files "on the fly" in respone to searches. All p2p clients are subject to it, thus the developer's attempts toward spam control.
