Seriously, this update of over 18MB, which alters the Operating System WASN'T tested on a 64 bit machine? Does Apple still use iMac G3s to test product code ????

Testing of OS updates??? - MacAdict4Life

It was likely tested on 64bit machines, just not with actual 64bit apps. The majority of software people run is NOT 64bit optimized.
