To many developers fail to mention that thier software is for USA only. This widget is yet another example that the developer asumes we all llive in the USA. VersionTracker.com is not exclusive to the USA you know !!!!

USA Only - Meister Fritz

And what does this particular widget cost? That's a rhetorical question because it's freeware. So, if the developer unilaterally decides to create a widget that is operative in the U.S. only, that is his/her prerogative. You really have no standing to make a complaint.

As I interpret the complaint of the original poster, it was not that this software was USA-only but instead that the developer failed to make this clear so residents of other countries would not waste their time downloading it. So being free of charge has nothing to do with anything. It's about clearly labeling what your software is and is not.

Geez, what a wus. Wasting TIME downloading it (oh yeah and you have to go through all that trouble of dragging it to the Widget folder. You're not using a PC! It's 186k for chrissake. Give it a rest.

Gee, and think of all the time the developer has to waste by just typing in the few words that this product supports only the USA at present.

this might seem kind of insidious to a lot of you...but by not specifying what exactly you need, you get more people downloading your software, and get bumped up on the ratings, get more notoriety, e.t.c.

also, if you really want international support, feel free to find a website that can do this. we'd love to add this functionality, but unfortunately, have a lack of good international free sms web services.

Actually, the developer DID (though indirectly) specify that it was a USA only widget. By posting that the engine that drives his pretty GUI was Google, he is basically posting the capabilities and limitations of the widget. Your answer lies in Google's service... when they support International SMS, then so will this widget.

Don't ding the usefulness of the widget just because you didn't do the research on the engine that drives the GUI before you downloaded it from overseas (not that it really should be an issue since this is a tiny widget in the first place).

As a UK resident - I use version tracker and think that when something is country specific, it would be nice to have it pointed out clearly before comitting to a download. It doen't take much to state, and would save a great deal of grief.

Thankfully the comments alerted me to the lack of current UK support.

Much obliged.

Don't get mad at us, get mad a google. We are working on incorporating other sms services in other countries. In the mean time, find someone to send limitless numbers of text messages in the US, just to get revenge.
