A bit surprised at the unattractive, old-fashioned (and not in a Boswellian sense) look of the program. I see what the commenter meant, who said this was a Classic program - no, of course it's not using Classic code, but it looks like a Classic program, and the various documents are messy as in a Classic program. (Why isn't this just in an OS X package?...)
More importantly: having lately bought DevonThink Pro and worked through a number of other popular text organization programs, I see what the Boswell people mean when they say (in their documentation) that databases aren't really what a writer needs. However, is it possible to put together some of these Boswell concepts with a more polished and streamlined interface and appearance? That's what I've been looking for... doesn't exist yet, as far as I can tell. Sigh...

I have to agree. I just discovered this app and my first impression was it's butt-ugly. It's a pretty simple interface, wouldn't be too difficult to streamline the appearance a bit. That isn't a dealbreaker, I still intend to consider the features carefully when I get a chance (unfortunately my first glance at the documentation was a little discouraging), but there are a lot of competitors that I'm also considering or use already.Reply to This
