I'll download it if it SPEEDS UP my processor, might even BUY it for that. Not sure about slowing it down though..

Why would anyone need this? - subcubus

You'll need this if you are working with a laptop on battery. Using it with high CPU settings, it drains away your power faster than expected.

If i could get it to work (which i can't) it would sure be better than me having to go into system preferences when i want to throttle up and down the processor cycles on my PowerBook. I would sure welcome the control instead of relying on the systems automatic setting.

also useful for desktops ... - sporobolus

in a hot environment, it can keep the processor from overheating, and stop those loud fans from kicking in
