I was hoping that this version would work better. I checked it against a drive that Disc Utilities, Tech Tools and DiscWarrior reported to be fine. Drive Genius reported that the drive needed to be repaired. After repairing the drive was unmountable. DiscWarrior repaired what Drive Genius damaged and mounted it.
I have always tested any utility on non critical drives before I call it good. I have used Norton since version 2, Tech Tools, DiscWarrior, Mac Medic, and more. None has been as problematic as this.
I have had the same kind of results weather I am running it from my boot drive or booted from the CD.
The duplication feature simply won't work.
It is too bad, all of the other products from Prosoft have been great. This one needs to go back to Subrosasoft.

This version no better than the last - samarb
I had the same experience on one of my Powerbooks, except that, after Drive Genius said that the drive couldn't be repaired, no other program could repair it and I had to erase the disk and do a reverse copy from a perfect bootable back-up copy of the now-destroyed disk. The reverse procedure worked like a charm and I'm beck to where I was---with a perfectly good disk that will not be subjected to Drive Genius again!Reply to This
