Ever since my credit union started offering online web access to my accounts, I have never needed to launch Quicken. My broker offers web access for my accounts there.
Between the two, who needs to balance their check book when my balance is available to me instantaneously and immediately up to date?
As far as my brokerage accounts go, I get up to the minute reports from its website instantaneously, too.
Sorry Intuit, but Quicken is nothing more than a dinosaur waiting to die off due to natural selection and evolution.

What??? Working in a credit union who offers free online banking I cannot believe that you would suggest that you still don't need to either keep a ledger or use a program like Quicken to balance your checkbook.Do you write checks? If you do... online banking is not going to reflect this until the check clears. Use your debit card? It may place holds on the funds for a day, but if the debit is not cleared right away it will be outstanding also.
You must only use cash if you think that online banking negates the necessity for a check ledger.
