...It seems that version 2.0 has corrected whatever ills this widget had - I've never used it before now. You can resize it to whatever size you want, and that's pretty slick. In my opinion, it's quite convenient. However, the preference "i" button should be present even if you don't enter a search. Finally, I'll really be impressed once this thing can retrieve directions, using two pop-up menus accessing your Address Book to set the start and end locations. I've got somewhat less use for just the map, and it doesn't seem like this would be too difficult.
