Ok, first: Yes, the shells are beautiful, and the photography is first rate. About what you'd expect from a company that sells sea shells. However, the Conchology widget is disappointing because it does not cycle through shell images, clicking on the image that IS displayed launches a browser window to the company site, and the company will offer to sell you that shell. The one on my screen at the moment costs $125. Apparently, you have to close and reload the widget to get another shell on-screen. Conchology, whose website is located in Belgium, describes themselves as the world's leading seashell company. I have no idea whether they subscribe to PETA's views on live-animal shell harvesting.

Self-inflicted popup ad for seashell collectors - Grem1in2
The software is kinda lame. The reference to PETA guidelines to seashell cruelty is even lamer. Get a life as I enjoy my next batch of live oysters.Tuesday, August 30 2005 @ 11:07 AM PDT
Thanks - WannaBteacher
thanks for the heads up. I love sea shells and anything related to the ocean. This saves me frustration at having to download this only to find out it's not free. Thanks again. Very useful information.Reply to This
