Existing users, 
I've been a very happy DEVONthink user for quite a while now. It's very good software.
But unless it acquires full Spotlight support in the near future, I'll be saying goodbye.
The internal search is indeed great. But I also need DEVONthink to expose its individual entries to Spotlight.

I've always had zero interest in the classification and linking features. On the other hand, I make extensive use of Spotlight, and am not interested in any text storage solution that won't expose itself to the index.
I've already exported all my items out of DEVONthink and stopped using it.

As a new user to DEVONTHING Pro I find your comments unrepresentative of the power and intuitive usefulness of this software.Ofcourse you are entitled to consider spotlight support essential for your purposes.
BUT there are other users who find the search / indexing built into DEVONPro much more useful / intuitive.
I am writing simply to balance your comments and to emphasise that the software is literally unique in its value to academic users. Those that are interested in getting the Nobel Prize (alright! a faster publication / presentation / paper / report) try this thoroughly for a few weeks to link and bring together all your resourses in one place. There simply is nothing quite exactly like DEVONPro for the Mac.
However the software does have a learning curve!
