A HACK is a bad option ; RE: Another option - Mil Mascaras

Application Enhancers, ape's, are truly HACKS to the finder. They do 'illegal' finder calls to accomplish cool effects. Every time you have a major crash, you will always find haxie code in the log, as the last item... Transparent dock is an app, a big script, and plays by all the correct rules. Shareware is almost free. Haxies are like heroin, the first hit is free, the other ones cost you, and it's never really a good idea, even though it feels really good...

Another option - Snowone

What's wrong with telling people about other software with a similar purpose? I use Clear Dock (which has been free for years), so a natural question is what does this app do that Clear Dock doesn't?

When I use Version Tracker to look for software to serve a particular function, comparisons of the available apps by other users are usually helpful.
