Confabulator

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Contributed by: Lex Luthor Monday, July 25 2005 @ 12:00 PM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: NO

.

As a registered user and early adopter of
this and Greg and Arlos last venture 'Kaleidoscope'
- I once again feel royally dumped on by
these kind of guys - The Mr.Confabulators
style shareware developers...

They walk away with cash in their pockets
from a loosing OSX position and leave their
early contributers with nothing but a giveaway
'branded' application. Very poor.

How about a free Flickr pro account for registered
users from Yahoo? - were they even considering us,
their end users when they made this deal...
- NO!

Confabulator - mneptok

First, Mister Early Adopter, the name of the product is "Konfabulator." With a "K."

Second, any person that bought version 2.0 of the product gets a full refund from Yahoo!. Go read the Konfabulator site.

Did you buy version 2.0, or are you complaining that you bought a version more than a year ago, used a product for 12 months for $19.95? Have you ever used an Adobe product? You pay $700 and then 12 months later pay $249 to upgrade. And you're whining like some spoiled schoolkid because you spent $19.95 more than a year ago, and now it's free?

Sounds like someone needs a juice box and a nap.

Confabulator - Lex Luthor

Konfabulator with a 'C' because I feel it's a 'con'
that the developers of this made themselves a
sweet deal, yet somehow forgot to get early
supporters anything for their trust and loyalty
from the company that just made another 500
million plus quarter.

If they had said - what about our loyal user base
how about giving them something for helping
us out at the beginning to Yahoo - I would have
had more respect for them.

They have a history of just leaving paid users
high and dry.

Yahoo bought them - Ilgaz

No need to say more. You should be happy that an internet giant will take care about your future updates and the programs future.

What are you talking about? If you bought Konfabulator 2 you are getting a refund. You are getting the $20 back. You are out of nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. To quote the site: "Fear not, people, for you will be given the gift of a refund if you purchased Konfabulator 2.0 or later." I think that's a grand example of giving back to their loyal customers...

Now, if you bought it back when it was 1.0... quit complaining. 1.0 came out two-and-a-half years ago - February of 2003. You were robbed because you spent $20 almost 30 months ago? You know that comes down to $0.67 a month, right?
