Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

ElectricSheep downloads "the first sheep" from the internet (as intercepted by Little Snitch), apparently calling home. Sorry, Charlie. This disqualifies you from running unattended on my box.

Screen saver calls home - jbeek

That is the main function of the screensaver: it downloads "sheep" for display.

As per the release notes, it does get "sheep" to load for the screen saver. So long as the author is doing this in good faith and there is no snooping, then there is no problem. After the first time loading this (it took about four minutes), it now runs almost instantly when I go into screensaver mode.

The original commentor is being a bit too touchy and it seems the programmer should make it more clear just how this screensaver operates.

The first clue to it calling home would be the server tab in it's options. It is part of the way it operates.

I think the phrase 'Distributed Screen Saver' probably was clue enough that it gets the data from a server. How about removing your rather stupid comment?!

Besides, it's not like they can bust you for pirating free software...
