This game is an enormous amount of fun. It's a great adaptation of Dungeons and Dragons, in which you steer a party of adventurers through all sorts challenges and battles. What really makes the game well-done is the huge number of side quests that continually keep you busy even as you try to make progress on the main quest. The NPCs that you can add to the party are also quite fun with distinct personalities and often funny banter. Every person I've talked to who has played this has had fond memories of playing it. They say that it is even better than the Neverwinter NIghts installments that follow. As for the OS X issues reported by others, I guess they were solved by Moore's Law if nothing else. I'm playing under OS 10.4 on a 1.6GHz G5 and having no problems with frame rate or whatnot even with everything maxed out. I have had a progressive problem with lockups when changing areas or apparent failures of pathing where the characters are virtually frozen. Eventually I had to shift to running it under Classic. Under Classic it's been okay but a little sluggish. Whenever it gets too sluggish in Classic, I switch back to OS X until it locks up. Annoying but working out so far. I haven't tried multiplayer so I can't comment on it. There are many websites where folks discuss their favorite characters and strategies.
