i'm looking for a programme to display the temperature of my cpu (dual 533mhz g4). "temperature monitor 2.5" is listed as "freeware" and it's supposed to display cpu temperature, NOT hard disk temperature. but all i can find are the 2 seagate smartdisk temperatures, and a "plug" for a commercial version called "hardware monitor" that promises tol monitor all sensors.

WHERE'S THE FREEWARE CPU TEMPERATURE DISPLAY?!!!!!!

Is your system supported by the utility? Temp Monitor only displays readings for sensors it recognizes.

kidding? - Question Mark

If you have found an error in Versiontracker's description of an application, make Versiontracker aware of it, but don't blame the developer.

To your question: A dual 533 MHz G4 computer does not have any temperature sensors, so it cannot measure temperature. There was a "sensor-like" device called "TAU" in some old CPUs but these TAUs have been very inaccurate and Apple deactivated all access to them in Mac OS X 10.3.5. and higher.
