So in essence this is a preview of what the program LOOKS
like but in no way can you see how it operates or not.
As a demo I would give it a minus star. Hey if the developer
is that freaking paranoid then don't tantalize us with a demo
that presents the program as lame and anal-retentive.
Not a good reflection on the makers and I will not buy it
simply because anyone who would promote a demo like
this has no common sense. I'd like to comment on the
program itself but...who knows?

Arrogance above all else in this posting - in fact, anyone who buys a current standard config iBook, PowerBook, Mac Mini or the combo-drive eMac has a drive of less than 100MB.Friday, September 23 2005 @ 06:36 PM PDT

I'm not trying to be flippant, but I think those computers have drives of more than 100MB (megabytes), which I believe is the limit of iDefrag. It's funny due to the way you came off - but yes, those computers do have less than 100GB (gigabytes) to be sure.
Granted, the demo is not practical with a limit of 100MB (unless you are defragging thumbdrives), but hkim has a point. I sprung the $30 and, this is a great app thus far.

Consider that if they put out a demo that acutally defragments a hard disk -- even just once -- people might just use that and not buy the software, especially if some clever bums can just download the demo again and again. You are most likely being unreasonable in your expectations. Despite some bugs in the 1.1 version, it has worked very well and has never trashed my data when it bombed (once). That is far better than Norton has been in OSX.
