iphoto update

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

i updated iphoto from version 2 to 5 about a week ago, everything installed fine but when i launch the program, it said it needed to update my photos. and when it finally did, it put them in a folder called recovered photos. since then, the thumbnails are empty, the program is unresponsive, every move i make, the spinning pizza appears for 2 minutes and disappears. forced quit it and left it alone.

i thought there would be a fix for this in update 5.02 but apparently it's still the same. so i went into the user folder and found that it had created weird dates for my albums - 2018? i decided to just backup the photos and delete the album photos and recovered photos.

the program now starts up fine. and now it's just relocating the pictures again.
