My comment is directed to MS Office, but is possibly applicable to others.
Version Tracker offers two options, Skip version or Remove Item (i.e., do not track any changes to this item), that inidicate how you want Version Tracker to treat software. However, some firms issue upgrades to an old version after major upgrades are released.
I'd like to be able to indicate that I am not interested in the next and best version of MS Word but I'd like to be alerted to Security upgrades to my current version. i.e., if the version number changes from 8 to 9, I do not care. But if it changes from 8.2.x to 8.2.y, I'd like to know.

I've made the same request. Not just critical security updates, but all updates for the current version excluding paid updates/upgrades.Thursday, July 21 2005 @ 12:35 PM PDT

Hi,MS must have sort of security mailing list and I agree, there could be a "critical" update flag to implement your idea.
