All you people who whinge on and on about how an update breaks some obscure feature of some weird bit of software that only you ever use, you're either EXTREMELY unlucky or, more likely, doing things wrong.
I have NEVER had ANY kind of problem with ANY Apple update. And I don't religiously repair permissions every four seconds like some people either. Stop complaining that "when I try to convert my iPhoto library into portuguese whilst standing on one leg during a thunderstorm, Safari crashes! this SUX"

Yes, the much-hyped full-screen slideshow is totally obscure. Who would actually think to use a feature that Steve Jobs specifically pointed out and demo'd during every preview of Tiger. And the Finder...nobody uses that. Except when standing on one leg during a thunderstorm, of course.Guess what: Just because it works for you doesn't mean it works for everyone else. There's a whole world going on outside of your little cave.

I would point you to the above comments. You may even want to view them as a fullscreen slideshow.Tuesday, July 12 2005 @ 04:21 PM PDT

I see you brought up my "little cave", as you put it, about which you seem to know so much.So you'll know that we have a network of over 300 Macs. Oh but of course, you knew that about my "little cave".

features only one person uses? Here's an list of some of the problems I've had with Tiger:- Installation fails and corrupts filesystem on freshly formatted drive.
- Installation corrupts PMU settings and/or nvram
- Mail is incredible slow reading imap accounts
- trackpad not initialized at boot sometimes, can require many boots to fix.
And that's just a starting point. Count yourself lucky, fanboi. People aren't making up these problems.

No, it was really more of a generic point which some people seem to be taking very personally for reasons best known only to themselves.I'm just SO SICK of seeing the same old complaints. I'm sure people aren't making them up, but we have an awful lot of Macs here, and very, very few problems. Which leads me to believe that people are either terminally unlucky or they enjoy complaining a lot.

Complaining about complaining is the ultimate irony, which you fail to recognize.Tuesday, July 12 2005 @ 05:33 PM PDT

How interesting that you attempt to make some sort of cod-philosophical point rather than admitting that your original post made some rather large and incorrect assumptions.Wednesday, July 13 2005 @ 01:09 AM PDT
