I haven't got the update to 3.0 but you should read the product description more carefully. You can now have announcements/messages based on caller ID. Great if you need to have a message for a specific person.
It seems you can also block specific calls based on caller ID (telemarketers begone!). That may or may not be worth $30 but it is to many of us.

You're probably right - I'm just disappointed 'cause I hemmed and hawed for a year before I bought it and then they came out with a paid upgrade 6-weeks later. If you end up getting the upgrade, please report back on how it works!
