This is--by far--the most useless browser that you could possibly use with Tiger. It crashes every few minutes. The fact that Apple even released it like this is a testament to shoddy quality control in the Safari unit. Someone should be fired over this travesty.
I highly recommend dragging Safari to the trash and switching to Firefox. Download one of the spelling check plugins and one of the tab plugins, and you will finally have a compatible AND stable browser on the Mac.

Safari is brilliant--but you aren't... - tainscough
1. The problem is fairly widespread, your two cents notwithstanding.2. Firefox, Opera and a two-year-old version of IE work prefectly.
3. Actually, I think you don't have a clue.

Why is it people have a problem with the software and automatically jump on the IT SUCKS bandwagon? Do you honestly think Apple would ship such an awful piece of software as you describe? And then why are there so many other reviews saying how good it is, and so few complaining about it crashing every 2 minutes? Just look at the website you've posted the comment on, and it shouldn't be too difficult to realise that the problem is your end, not Apples.btw, I use Safari 2.0 all the time and it hasn't yet crashed once. No complaints from here.
Try looking before you leap.

"0 of 8 Users Found this helpful" - I think this speaks volumes. Safari 2.0 is brilliant and runs great on my ancient Pismo PowerBook under 10.4.2.Tuesday, July 12 2005 @ 06:20 PM PDT
Apple Apologists - MoTo77
Yeah, and the volumes that it speaks are that there are a lot of silly Apple apologists on VT. It also speaks to the lack of awareness of widely reported issues among members of the Apple community. Finally, the comments give us a long list of people whose input we know we can ignore in the future because they have proven themselves more willing so jump on the Apple bandwagon than to learn about a problem.Safari 2.0 has problems with OS 10.4.1. Anyone with more than a modicum of knowledge is aware of the problem. The fact that it hasn't happen to YOU does not mean that the problem does not exist.

Safari is brilliant! - Andreas..
For one reason or another I use Safari for several hours every day. I have been using Tiger since it appeared, and Safari 2.0 since it arrived and in an asortment of different forums. I have never had a crash, NOT ONE. Do you think you might need to do some troubleshooting with your hosed setup, or is it easier to always blame someone else?
