Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

Also running OS 10.4.1. The real problem is that with the Supreme Court siding with the data monopolists, products like Acquisition could come under legal attack for abetting theft of IP.

Works all right for me. - Also

The way I understand the ruling. It would be if the author CONDONED the use of the theft of IP. If the Author had the appropriate disclaimers, and based the product on having a legitimate use, there is not a problem. The authors cannot be held responsible for misuse by OTHER people.

Works all right for me. - Jeff Mincey

The Supreme Court's ruling is pretty muddy on this point, but I think you are right. It's not the tool alone (nor the technology alone) which the Court objects to but rather to companies which seek to exploit its illegal use for profit and by specifically encouraging that illegal use.

The US Supreme Court has jurisdiction only over software developers or distributors located in the US. Aquisition is distributed from Australia.
