This is the only OS X app I've ever seen whose installer doesn't require an admin password.
I can't imagine why that would be.

You don't need an administrator password to add a file to your own Library, but you do to add one to the root Library. Install for all users and it will require a password.This is no more a security issue than not requiring a password to install a widget is a security issue.
