This is the only OS X app I've ever seen whose installer doesn't require an admin password.

I can't imagine why that would be.

You don't need an administrator password to add a file to your own Library, but you do to add one to the root Library. Install for all users and it will require a password.

This is no more a security issue than not requiring a password to install a widget is a security issue.

Plus many apps do not require PW when installing for the user that is an admin user. If you want Synergy for other users you do need a PW.

Because you're only installing it for the currently logged on user. Set it for all users and you will be prompted for a admin password.
