... what the point of Dashboard/Konfabulator is? You can use the actual web page quickly and easily, or you can use this widget and live with obnoxious limitations such as the inability to resize the window, lack of scroll arrows, lack of scroll wheel support, and just end up at the web page anyway once you click a listing. Huh?

Another widget that makes you wonder... - misterhappy37

I agree somewhat (although I am the author of this widget), but another view is that it's the Dashboard that gives widgets their value. You go into teh dashboard and see lots of information at a glance, without having to go to a dozen different Web sites. A single widget may not be better than a Web page, but as a group they can be useful.

As for scroll wheel support, that's a definite point of lameness. I'll definitely look into it for the next release. I also have some ideas for enhancing the usefulness of this widget beyond what the Web site does - maybe something where you can enter a keyword and the Widget will highlight deals that mention the keyword.

By the way, one unfortunate fact is that since Widgets have to be dormant when the Dashboard is hidden, they can't notify you when something interesting happens. You have to go to the Widget and look at it, and at that point, it's true, you might as well have gone to a Web page. This is one area where Konfabulator has the edge.
