Will not start: the Fix. - terryl

The problem: Limewire icon just bounces a few times on the dock and fails to launch. No error message; just nothing happens. I just dealt with this problem for a client.

The Short Version of the fix: Delete your Limewire preferences in the ~name of user/library/preferences folder. Then run the current Macintosh OS 10 updaters from the Software Update under the Apple Menu to update the OS 10 Java and security code to be compatible with the latest Limewire versions. This solved the problem for my client.

Will not start - fazzari

I had similar problems when I put LimeWire somewhere other than the Applications directory.

Will not start - Dr Suhn

My copy of LimeWire is not on the same hard drive as my System and works correctly.
Anyway, I got the same problem before and resolved it by updating Mac os Java runtime.

Will not start - slyrobber

I have the same problem, for two versions now the program starts and quits just as fast. Now very useless. 4.9, 4.9.1, 4.9.2
