I'll start off by saying I'm glad I don't use much software from Bias. There was no demo of SoundSoap, so I had to go by other reviews. I finally decided to buy it, but setting it up was more effort than I wanted. You MUST register to product to get your authorization code. Without the code, the software is a 14 day trial. So I was forced to give them my address and email before I could be fully authorized. Note to Bias: Offer a demo that can't save to give people a taste, and your sales will triple overnight.

As for the software its self, it works very well! I was interesting in using it on some VHS video of my childhood I had imported to my Mac. The video all contained the background "hum" of the recorder, which was very distracting at times. SoundSoap dramatically reduced the hum making the video much more enjoyable. However, it did not completely eliminate all background noise. There was still a noticeable hum, but only at a very high volume and nothing compared to the near roar the original video had. My only complaint would be that the icon in the dock is not "drag-and-dropable".

The reduction of hum alone made this software well worth the money. I highly recommend it for an entry level app. Professionals will probably want more power.
