The .DS_Store files are not unnecessary and useless. If they really were useless then they wouldn't be created in the first place.
That said, I agree that they can be annoying. However, stopping them completely isn't the best way to go. I think you should be able to have them be created on some volumes and not others. The startup volume is a good place to have them always be created, for example.

Okay, this will be something for the next version. I just thought the app might already be of use for somebody. Please note, that all other application on the .DS_Store section only allow you to delete the files. This is the only app that prevents the creation of the .DS_Store files in the first place.Reply to This
