I keep waiting, month after month, year after year, for a truly major new release of this product, and it simply never happens. Right now, if you don't own Eudora and you want to be a paid, fully registered user, the price is $50. But if you are an existing Eudora owner and want to upgrade, well, there IS no upgrade. For the last several years there have been only upDATES -- incremental bug-fix releases for which every year we are to pay an additional full price of $50.
So how is it that the product overall is worth that price while an additional years' worth of endless minor tweaks is likewise worth the same price?
I currently have Eudora 6.0 and it even works with Tiger, and so I'm not going to pay for a 6.x update just to have errors corrected. I think it's clear Qualcomm has no interest in this application and it should simply sell it to a developer who would revitalize it with new ideas. Either that or do away with this absurd pricing policy which requires your customers to pay for a fixed product.
Will there EVER be a Eudora 7? And, if so, will it consist of user-requested features and enhancements or only nonsense such as mood watch and bug fixes?

It is curious that you are being asked to pay each time.I have used Eudora for many years, but have never had to pay for any updates. My last payment was in 2003 to upgrade to v.6. Since then I have applied every update, and use the current beta but have never been asked to pay a dime for the updates, only for the occasional major upgrade.

BradyJ must work for Eudora. I refused to pay the yearly upgrade as well. I finally switched to Apple Mail. Apple Mail works very well has better search and is free. I have 9 email addresses on 4 servers with 150 rules and 200 mailboxes. Currently storing over 45,000 emails from the last 7 years.Saturday, June 18 2005 @ 01:45 AM PDT
