Existing users, 
I downloaded and installed as instructed. I reindexed Spotlight first. I did not wait to see if Spotlight would finally reindex the WP files.
Finds files so conversion to Word first is not necessary.
Below is probably not developer issue so much as Apple issue....
It appears that Spotlight will not automatically launch and open WordPerfect if classic is not running or previously opened.
You can drop the selected file onto WP icon. Once WP open and classic is running, it will open file.
