Just for the ignorant ones that have not been around the last forums:

Dashboard widgets interact with the OSX programs!

Konfabulator widgets are just stand alone objects!

Does that clear up things about the difference between the two?

That's not true at all - dontspammeplease

There Konfabulator widgets that integrate with all manner of other programs. You'll find widgets that interact with Mail, iCal, Entourage, Safari, iTunes (dear lord, save me from iTunes widget overload!), iChat and others!

There's nothing inherently more integrated about Dashboard than there is in Konfabulator. Both, through various means, can hook into Apple Events, AppleScript, and the command line (including shell scripts). Any of these means can be used to communicate with other programs.
