I have now tried to backup three times, each taking 2 full days and when it gets to the end of the backup, I get this error message:
Trouble in Retrospect:
Internal Consistency Check Failed:
Assertion check at "elem.c-811"
The only option then is to quit and then it doesn't finish the backup. I also see to get a lot of "dirty head/disks" errors, even though they are brand new dvds.

There are a number of known issues with this build of Retrospect. It turns out that there are problems with Spotlight. Hopefully EMC/Dantz will be addressing these. I find a sort of appalling that they didn't in all the time Tiger was being tested, but well there it is.Anyway, try this.
Exclude /Library/Preferences/Retrospect from Spotlight in the privacy tab
Also tell Retrospect to not backup any files/folders named .Spotlight-V100

Same error here. I was backing up to a firewire drive file. Also scripts that are created do not show up for running.
It seems that Dantz isn't interested in fixing the problems.
Basically this once Gold Standard is not a POS, so sad.
