There is nothing wrong with the installer. The previous poster probably had messed-up permissions before installation, which could cause both the messed-up installation and (obviously) the permissions problem.
The bigger problem is that the program seems to think I have 5421641236480MB of RAM. The correct number is 2048MB, i.e., 2 GB. (This is on a dual G5 with 10.4.1.) The amount of RAM it thinks I have is even bigger when starting in single-user mode, though I don't have the actual number. The program will apparently fill all available disk space trying to make a swapfile big enough to lock the amount of memory it thinks you have. Basically it's useless now unless you manually specify the amount of memory to be tested.

Thinks I have 5421641236480MB - friskythecat
I'm aware of this problem and am looking into it. The "all" option appears to be working incorrectly on G5-based Macs running Tiger. The problem centers on the fact that this is the one combination of hardware and software that runs the program in 64-bit mode. I'm relying on user feedback to help me fix this problem since I have no access to 64-bit platforms. Please email me with log files exhibiting this problem. Thank you.Monday, May 30 2005 @ 12:37 PM PDT
