Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

I can't say anything else... a 10 for functionality, a 10 for abbreviation-speed, a 10 for GUI, a 10 for slickness, a 10 for the speed in general. This application simply blew me out of my socks.
Just a few personal things/requests/tips:
  • The whole modules/plugins thing is a bit unclear for people who enter this program for the first time... they both appear to be the same thing.
  • Maybe all those choices in the preferences could have some rollOver-information. It's not always very clear what's what, and it's pretty anoying to open the help-file each time. It's especially unclear when you want to add new plugins... I've added like Safari and iTunes but I don't know exactly what extra functionality they will give. Just some extra info about the plugin directly in the preference-pane would be ideal.
That's it. Great stuff..... keep on churning!

sorry.... - Ypmits

I've made some mistake by saying there's an info-button missing... it's there... I just didn't see it somehow. I guess I'm a bit spoiled by Apple's interface. :) I wish versiontracker would let you revise the original comment/review.

I agree about wishing you could edit comments on VT. I've made comments and then wished later I could edit them.
However, I think you're still right about the modules. Clicking the info button gives some info like you say- who wrote it, what it does. But that explanation should be longer- how to use it, a couple of examples, etc. How do you know if you want the Backpack or Sogudi modules if you don't know what those things are ? I'm sure there are more aspects to the Calculator and iTunes modules I'm not grasping.
Quicksilver has a very active support forum and I guess that's where we'll have to go. QS is rapidly being updated, which makes it hard to do documentation, and it's all volunteer. Writing documentation usually isn't the first thing that volunteers think of doing.
But I guess I can express my wish for better documentation of the modules and hope. I'd also like to express my gratitude to Alcor and everyone else who worked on Quicksilver for this fabulous gift to the Macintosh community.
